errors in veda

List of Errors in Hindu Scriptures

As most religions believe in the existence of God, in the past their followers used to worship God the Almighty, Omnipotent, Omnipresent, Omniscient, Compassionate, Eternal -- the Creator of the universe and all that exists.

But when we study the Hindu concept of God, a number of surprising facts come to light. Today Hinduism is a well-established polytheistic religion, even though it is against the Vedic (sacred Hindu scripts) commandments. Because of the plurality of gods within Hinduism, it is very difficult to come to any specific conclusion about what commandments are given by God to be followed by Hindus. Through this essay we will try to seek answers to questions like: "Does Hinduism have a uniform view concerning who God is? How many gods are there in existence (in Hinduism)? Does God have a birth and death? Who created the universe? We will also find out whether the "Trinity of God", described in Hindu scriptures, has any logic to be called the Supreme God.

Many more points can be presented but I guess these few points will be enough to prove my point. Hindus either have to prove these things presented in their sacred scriptures or accept that their sacred scriptures have severe scientific errors. Vedas, claimed by Hindus to be the most sacred scripture, allege that: Sun moves around the earth on a golden chariot with his 7 horses. Vedas also allege that The Bull has supported the sky. For more continue reading below.

1. Vedas say Earth is static - According to Vedas, the earth is static and this statement is repeated several times. The following are some of the examples:
  • Oh Man ! He who made the trembling earth static is Indra. (Rig Ved 2/12/12)
  • The God who made the earth stable (Yajur Ved 32/6)
  • Indra protects the wide earth which is immovable and has many forms (Atarv Ved 12/1/11)
Let us walk on the Wide and Static earth (Atharv Ved 12/1/17)
    2. Vedas say Sun moves around the earth on a golden chariot with his 7 horses - As the Veds Claim that the earth is static and so they tried to prove that the sun moves around the earth. The following statement from the rig Ved tries to clarify it:
    • "Sun is full of light and knows all the human beings, so his horses take him to sky to look at the world" (Rig Ved 1/50/1)
    • "O, Bright sun, a chariot named harit with seven horses takes you to sky" (Rig Ved 1/50/8)
    • "O, man, the sun who is most attractive, takes round of the earth, on his golden chariot through the sky and removes the darkness of the earth" ~ (Yajur Ved 33/43)
      3. Vedas say The Bull has supported the Sky
      • “The Bull has supported the sky.” Yajur Ved: 4:30.
      • “The Bull has supported the sky.” Yajur Ved: 14:5
      4. Puranas say Earth is Flat - NARASINGA PURANA - Page 169 - Abithana Sinthamani - says that the earth is flat. Today it has been proved beyond doubt by the scientists that the earth is round.

      5. Vishnu Purana - another astrological error - VISHNU PURANA says that sun is 800,000 miles and moon is 2,200,000 miles away from the earth respectively. Astronomy has now proved that the moon is nearer to the earth, i.e. 240,000 miles and that the sun is 93,000,000 miles away from the earth.

      6. Markandeya Purana - gives completely wrong area of the earth - MARKANDEYA PURANA says that the earth has an area of 4,000,000,000 square miles. According to astronomy, it is only 190,700,000 square miles.

      7. Vedas / Puranas recommend looking directly into the sun with naked eye - The Vedas and Puranas say that all Hindus must pray to the sun god SURYA, and that if you look at the sun daily every morning with your naked eyes, your sight will improve. Accordingly many Hindus practise this act of worship; but instead of their eyesight improving, India is the country that has the most blind people in the world (2.5 million blind people and 9 million with corneal blindness). There is no scientific truth in sun worship, and on the contrary the scientist and doctors advise everyone not to look at the sun directly with the naked eye. Who is telling us the truth, the Scientists or the Hindu scriptures? You be the judge!

      8. Vedas say cow is holy and should be worshiped.(Brahmins add that cow dung ash has medicinal value) - The Vedas say that the cow is holy and should be worshipped. These Brahmins also claim that cow dung ash has medicinal value. Samples sent to a leading test laboratory in West Germany have proved this to be untrue.

      9. Mt. Meru 100,000 times higher than Mt. Everest according to the Hindu Scriptures - Arya texts of a comparatively late period ( 5 century AD ) still maintain a belief in the fictional Vedic Mt. Meru. It is supposed to be one hundred thousand times higher than Mt. Everest! Regarding this mountain, the Matsya Purana says, "It [Mt Meru] is golden and shining like fire. The colour of the eastern side is white like the colour of Brahmans, that of the northern side is red like the that of Kshatriyas, the southern is yellow like that of Vaishyas, the western is black like the colour of Sudras. It is 86000 yojana high, and 16000 of these lie in the earth. Each of the 4 sids has 34000 yojanas ... There are beautiful golden houses inhabited by spiritual beings, the Devas, by the singers the Gandharvas and their harlots the Apsaras. Also Asuas, Daityas and Rakshasas are living in it. " -- [ Matsya Pur. quoted in al-B. i.247 ] In general, 1 yojana = 8 miles = 32000 yards and 1 kroh = 1/2 yojana [ al-B i.167 ]. Thus Mt. Meru would be 8x86,000 = 704,000 miles high. Mt. Everest, by comparison, is only 29,000 ft., or less than 6 miles, high. Hence Mt. Meru is 100,000 times higher than Mt. Everest !

The Kurma Purana has this to say on this topic,
" Earth, composed of seven continents, together with the oceans extends 500,000,000 yojanas across. Holy Jambudvipa lies in the middle of all the continents; in its center is said to be lofty Mt. Meru, bright as gold. Its height is 84,000 yojanas, and it extends 16,000 yojanas below the earth; its width at the top is 32,000 yojanas, and its diameter at the base is 16,000 yojanas." ~ [ Kurma Purana, quoted in Classical, p. 52 ]

The impossibly high Mt. Meru is held to be the source of really existing rivers in India such as the Sita.

Brahmins always have a tendency to claim everything in the name of SCIENCE. But the Scientists, Doctors and Specialists claim otherwise. First of all any man with common sense won't agree to the claims originated by these BRAHMINS. Here are a few examples of Brahmin-originated unscientific claims (and the true knowledge of "the gods"):

      10. THE EARTH IS FLAT - NARASINGA PURANA - Page 169 - Abithana Sinthamani - says that the earth is flat. Today it has been proved beyond doubt by the scientists that the earth is round.

      11. DISTANCE BETWEEN EARTH, SUN & MOON - VISHNU PURANA says that sun is 800,000 miles and moon is 2,200,000 miles away from the earth respectively. Astronomy has now proved that the moon is nearer to the earth, i.e. 240,000 miles and that the sun is 93,000,000 miles away from the earth.

      12. THE AREA OF THE EARTH - MARKANDEYA PURANA says that the earth has an area of 4,000,000,000 square miles. According to astronomy, it is only 190,700,000 square miles.

      13. VIBOOTHI (COW DUNG ASH) - The Vedas say that the cow is holy and should be worshipped. These Brahmins also claim that cow dung ash has medicinal value. Samples sent to a leading test laboratory in West Germany have proved this to be untrue. Even today ignorant Hindus smear their homes with cow dung.

In India people are dying of hunger. Why are these low caste Hindus prohibited from eating beef? In India cow meat is cheaper than other available meats. Instead of these Brahmins taking care of the low caste peoples of India they are doing their best to save their "holy" cows. According to Valmith's Ramayana, God Rama "ATE" meat. Why then have these Brahmins given up beef-eating?

      14. Thousands of heads, eyes and feet - In Purush Sukta of Rigveda (10/90/1) God is described as having thousands of heads, eyes and feet.

      15. Hiranayagarbh Sukta of Rigveda says that in the beginning of the universe there was only Hiranyagarbh (the Almighty God). He was the Lord of all beings. He set earth and the sky at their present places (Rigved, 10/121/1). God blessed the beings with strength. All the deities obey His commands. Even death is under His command. He is the Lord of all beings and animals. This Rigveda also stresses God's Attributes such as Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent and the Master of Salvation.

      16. Why is God defined as having a body? - Swetambar Upanishad (618) sheds some light on the body-figures of God. "He has no body, no soul, no senses. Nobody is even equal to him." "He is the Almighty God. He is the protector of the whole creation. He is exempt from hunger, thirst, grief and death.". When the Hindu scriptures say that God is one and exempt from birth and death, then the question arises why is He defined as having a body. Is it not contradictory?

The Rigveda also suggests that "Prajapati" is the Almighty God of Hindus. But Atharvaveda (7/3/26/1) says, "Vishnu created earth, heaven and space." In the Mandukya Upanishad (6) Brahma is described as the creator of earth, heaven and space. What a contradiction!

The study of Rigveda, Athravaveda and various Upanishads suggests that Brahma and Vishnu are described as two almighty gods. But the great surprise is that these scriptures describe god as exempt from birth in one place, while in the other they describe him tied to wordly bonds.

      17. Has many Gods - According to Shiv Mahapuram (6/1/19), Brahma and Vishnu used to fight to prove their respective superiority. Brahma says that he created Vishnu, but Vishnu says that he created "Lotus" from his navel which in turn gave birth to Brahma. This conflict turned to a terrible battle between them. Besides Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, thirty-three gods are also described in the Vedas. Today their number has reached thirty-three crore (330,000,000). This means that every third person of India has his own god

Due to this brief exposition of the Hindu concept of god, one might be astonished at the terrible perplexities and contradictions the Hindu scriptures contain. Can a human being, enjoying the slightest degree of sanity, reach any kind of certitude concerning the true concept of God by adopting this mysterious and bewildering philosophy? One may compare this with the simple, clear-cut Islamic way of achieving this concept. Muslims believe in one and only one God (Allah). They admit neither peers to Him nor intercessors, which is a distinguishing feature of Islam.

      now from beginning
about the earth being static, the actual translation is 'He who ensures that the sun with seven color bands that shines, the clouds that rain, air that circulates, water bodies that nourish us - all work in harmony to provide us life and vitality has been managed by Indra or the Ishwar who provides prosperity'There is nothing about static earth in this mantra.
and about the sun moving around the earth, It actually means: The way rays of sun enable the world to see the sun, in same manner all noble people should propagate their goodness far and wide through good deeds and teachings.
There is no horse in this mantra nor it talks about sun moving around any earth.
now about the bull, the word “Vrishabh” actually means an entity which is powerful, possessing high potentials or simply the best. It later came to mean the ‘bull’ also because the ‘bull’ is symbol of raw power.
now about looking at the sun directly, Yes, it is a natural treatment of India for eyes by watching sunrise. There has been no a single case in world that has caused damage to eyesight because they watched a sunrise or sunset. Refer Solar observing and Eye Safety and The statistics on blindness in India is interesting. But can the you also provide details on how many of these blinds were Hindus and how many contracted blindness due to watching sunrise?
and now about cows, Yes Vedas indeed emphatically state that cow is most precious to sensible human beings and those who kill cows for short-term taste of tongues are indeed among the dumbest. Because a living cow, even if sterile, produces more benefits for environment than a dead cow. Almost all outputs from a cow – milk, dung, urine – has a beneficial impact on environment and health.
and about the west germany case, Kindly cite the name of lab which proved cow dung ash to be useless. Kindly do not provide vague references. By the way, West Germany ceases to exist since 1990! I recall how Zakir Naik also gives reference to research by some illiterate ‘farmer’ in California to justify Halal Meat. This shows the standards of the references of Anti-Hindu scientists! Refer Zakir Naik defends Halal Meat. and Cow dung has been proven to produce tremendous benefits including construction of bricks. There are at least 4 International Patents (US/ Europe) on cow urine that we are aware of. Simply search on google with ‘cow urine patent’.

and now lets come to the mistakes in islam shall we, il separate it into 3,
      1.internal contradictions
      2.external errors
      3. verses contradicting the earlier revelations
      1.internal
1.Who Was the First Muslim? Muhammad [6:14, 163], Moses [7:143], some Egyptians [26:51], or Abraham [2:127-133, 3:67] or Adam, the first man who also received inspiration from Allah [2:37]?
2.How many angels were talking to Mary? When the Qur'an speaks about the announciation of the birth of Jesus to the virgin Mary, Sura 3:42,45 speaks about (several) angels while it is only one in Sura 19:17-21. (This article has received many Muslim responses which are quoted or linked and/or discussed at the end of the article.)
3.Further numerical discrepancies Does Allah's day equal to 1,000 human years (Sura 22:47, 32:5) or 50,000 human years (Sura 70:4)? --- According to Sura 56:7 there will be THREE distinct groups of people at the Last Judgement, but 90:18-19, 99:6-8, etc. mention only TWO groups. --- There are conflicting views on who takes the souls at death: THE Angel of Death [32:11], THE angels (plural) [47:27] but also "It is Allah that takes the souls (of men) at death." [39:42] Angels have 2, 3, or 4 pairs of wings [35:1]; but Gabriel had 600 wings. [Sahih Bukhari, Volume 4, Book 54, Number 455]
4.Quick or Slow Creation? Allah creates the heavens and the earth in six days [7:54] and many Muslims want to be modern and scientific, and make that six eons, but then again, He creates instantaneously [2:117], "Be! And it is".
5.Heavens or Earth? Which was created first? First earth and then heaven [2:29], heaven and after that earth [79:27-30].
6.Does Allah forgive shirk? Shirk is considered the worst of all sins, but the author of the Qur'an seems unable to decide if Allah will ever forgive it or not. No [4:48, 116], Yes [4:153, 25:68-71]. Abraham committed this sin of polytheism as he takes moon, sun, stars to be his Lord [6:76-78], yet Muslims believe that all prophets are without any sin.
7.The infinite loop problem Sura 26:192,195,196: "It (the Qur'an) is indeed a revelation from the Lord of the Worlds, ... in clear Arabic speech and indeed IT (the Qur'an) is in the writings of the earlier (prophets)." Now, the 'earlier writings' are the Torah and the Injil for example, written in Hebrew and Greek. HOW can an ARABIC Qur'an be contained in books of other languages? Furthermore, it would have to contain this very passage of the Qur'an since the Qur'an is properly contained in them. Hence these earlier writings have to be contained in yet other earlier writings and we are in an infinite loop, which is absurd
now my friend i think thats enough for you to answer and i definitely doubt whether you could cause these were the words from Qur'an and i can point 100 more, literally 100 more and i seriously doubt whether you would post this

"Hindus either have to prove these things presented in their sacred scriptures or accept that their sacred scriptures have severe scientific errors."
This statement shows how shallow the author is! and yes I accept for your solace that our scriptures have "severe scientific errors". At least in this case no heads or limbs will be chopped for saying that. And I agree your scripture has all modern scientific discoveries already mentioned. That would be the reason all those countries following this scripture are shining examples of scientific and technological development.

      Best described..

You just just copied the nonsense which is made by some troll over internet.

      For example:-

“Sun is full of light and knows all the human beings, so his horses take him to sky to look at the world” (Rig Ved 1/50/1)

“O, Bright sun, a chariot named harit with seven horses takes you to sky” (Rig Ved 1/50/8)

Actual meaning: “The way seven rays of sun carry its illumination across the world like horses of a chariot, in same manner you should understand seven kinds of Chhanda of Vedas.”

      Flat Earth?

"Shape of Earth is like an Oblate Spheroid."(Rig VedaXXX. IV.V)

‘Earth is flattened at the poles’(Markandeya Purana 54.12)

I can go on this forever, point is, that you have copied wrong stuff. Know the right ones.

This verse tells all Muslims to pray towards the Ka'aba (qiblah being the direction that one has to face in order to do this). This is only possible on a flat earth model. Due to the sphericity of the earth, a prayer in any direction will point towards the sky/outer-space, not Mecca.
      Verse 2-144.gif
For people who are praying a great distance from Mecca, their qiblah would be somewhere down towards the ground, and the people who are located on the opposite 'side' of the earth would have to pray vertically downward towards the center of the earth.
So, for example, Muslims in the Solomon Islands in fact blaspheme against Allah, because they defecate toward the direction of the Ka'aba when they answer the call of nature.
Even if we were to use the traditional Muslim method of determining qiblah (i.e. a great circle) this would still be blasphemous because you would be simultaneously praying with your face and backside aimed towards the Ka'aba.
In addition to all of the direct evidence we have provided, this is just one of the problems which indirectly indicate that the narrator/writer of the Qur'an believed in a flat earth model.
      Author Prayatna said...
They talk about Muhammad being mentioned in the Hinduic scripts. Even few logics are also presented. But the thing is they know not Hinduism in deep.

Do you know why a horse has its one leg in the air while its three legs in the ground? ...
I bet no one does... The four legs of the horse represents the four Vedas (Rig, Sam, Yajur and Atharva Vedas).
Here's the truth ... Ved Vyas was only the knower of Rig Veda, Sam Veda and Yajur Veda except for the Atharva Veda.
Atharva Veda was never explained by anyone... I mean none, not even Vyas! So, one of the few tasks of Kalki becomes - to explain the knowledge of Atharva Veda (symbollically - the fourth leg of Kalki's horse).

I'm saying this because Prophet Muhammad had never ever explained the knowledge Atharva Ved in the Mecca, or did he? Please, ask this question to those who claim that Prophet Muhammad to be Kalki.

But why are the leaders presenting "Muhammad" as "Kalki"? ... You know Why? ... cuz they don't know who Kalki is ... It is just their hunch! ... Yeah, few similarities are presented but I think that isn't fully sufficient to prove that Muhammad is Kalki.

But on the other hand, (according to my perspective, the perspective that I had developed on my own from the wisdom of Mahamati Prannath), Rasul Muhammad is partially Kalki (in one way)!!! ... Do you wanna know why? ... Then, please read Alif Lam Mim. Alif Lam Mim is
the Kalki of Hindus!!! And not even the Hindus or the Muslims ever knew of this fact!!!
Rasul Muhammad's spirit was also present in Kalki (or Mahamati Prannath)!!

And Mahamati Prannath is Kalki because he had explained the Atharva Veda in its original sense!!! Thus, by explaining Atharva Veda, Mahamati Prannath (the Kalki) has ridden his horse!

Also download the biography of Mahamati Prannath by clicking here, and read it for yourself if you don't believe me a bit!!!
      Jyothiprasad Buddha said...
Not sure why, but people from every religion tries to find the faults of other religions and ignore their own. I'm not supporting any religion, because I'm an Atheist. Any body can Google and find out scientific inaccuracies of every religion. People just don't want to accept mistakes from their religion, if someone point out a mistake of a sentence in their religion, they simply tell a new meaning to that sentence and bend the interpretation. But if similar note is made on other religion, they will be quick to jump the gun and say "That is why our religion is better."

Firstly what is the purpose of this discussion ? to get site traffic or some lime light ? i guess you have got it . Do you think anybody would have given the same amount of response if you or or your Dr Zakir Naik spoke "scientific similarities in Quran and Vedas " I am scientist and propose a very simple and effective way to solve this disparity amongst ancient knowledge sources . Lets announce to the world - the first scripture to solve an existing unsolved problem in any field of science will be considered superior. Can any of you read the religious books and give some head start on how to construct a Geand Unified Theory maybe? We are always quarreling about already established scientific facts because it is convinient. And let me tell you why this will never work as well. None of us actually know what is written in these scriptures for two reasons 1. Most of the people who do these kind of trolling have read some part of translated scriptures and not in its native language like sanskrit / Urdu / Arabic / hebrew 2. The knowledge representation in ancient scriptures is very contextual to those times . Remember all of these scriptures were attempts to teach scientific knowledge into the commoners (not scientist ) for a better living. I am an born Hindu living in an arabic country and can read sanskrit and Arabic . So let me tell all of you this . My interpretation of Vedas & Quran can be compared to Newton's Laws of Motion - It accurate and inaccurate at the same time depending on the context. and next time somebody ask me something from these scriptures i will give them a context based on my exposure to 21st century .

& by the way about shirk you have written out of context & some nonsense shirk is unforgivable after you die as a shirk , if in your last time you repent for it to Allaah , your sins as a shirk will be forgiven so b4 saying anything first make a detailed study of Quran
